Buy your fellow Nuffnanger a Gift!

Everyone loves gifts, especially if they’re given by people who mean a lot to you such as your family and friends. However, picking a prefect gift is often a tedious if not a frustrating task! From finding the time to get stuck in traffic just to get to a shopping mall to spending time and more fuel of locating a parking space and spend even more time and energy walking and scouring shopping malls to queuing up to pay for it and not to mention when you find out that the perfect gift is out of stock after all that effort!

All these hassle are eliminated with the existence of www.RealMart.com.my, an online shopping portal with thousands of products. All you have to do is just browse online for the items that you would need and check out your shopping cart. To top that, you can even courier the item to your friend’s address right away!

Nuffnang is proud to hold a Nuffnang Gift Ideas Contest where Nuffnangers stand a chance to win RealMart e-vouchers to experience an online shopping at our expense! All you have to do is just blog about what you would give a fellow Nuffnanger and in the most creative way and tell us why.

For example, Darius Chin would like to give Su Ann an iron because he feels that “she can straighten him out” or “Yee Hou would like to give Robb a vacuum cleaner because Robb sucks like one.”

The contest runs for 3 weeks from 16th July till 6th August 2008 and 3 bloggers with the most creative blog entry will win:

First prize : RealMart e-voucher valued at RM1,500

Then, July came and we found ourselves in CHIP Magazine.

chip_magazine_news-and-trends_p22_july2008.jpg

nst_streets_p4-5_12july2008.jpg

Once again, we would like to thank all fellow Nuffnangers who came and supported our event. Without your everlasting ‘wild’ support, the event wouldn’t have been as successful as it is.

Thank you once again.

Not Your Average Superhero Experience

Hancock is definitely not your average Superhero.

200 bloggers had the opportunity to catch Hancock on the big screen for free last Monday during Nuffnang Private Screening at Cathay Cinneplex courtesy of Buena Vista Columbia Tristar. All they had to do to get the free tickets is to write a blog post titled ‘Not Your Average Superhero’ and send in an email to us. The responses from our bloggers are so good, that not everyone gets to watch the movie. We prioritized only those who wrote in early to us to be fair and our Glitterati bloggers as it is part of our exclusivity program to reward our most loyal bloggers.

The screening was meant to be a very simple event as it was part of our regular community events to give back to our blogging community for the support they gave to us. That being said, it was only me alone handling the registration counter with bloggers queuing up to collect their tickets from me.

hancock-screening-25.jpg

Our bloggers started arriving around 9pm, all excited and ready to watch Will Smith on the big screen.

hancock-screening-10.jpg

And as usual, what do bloggers do when they meet in public places? They take pictures, as usual.

hancock-screening-24.jpg

One of our bloggers, got too excited with superheroes, he brought his V for Vendetta mask to take pictures around. I simply can’t miss the opportunity to take pictures with him despite having to man the registration counter. So, he came to the registration counter instead, and posed with me.

hancock-screening-18.jpg

Some of the bloggers who went in the cinema early wasted no time to take pictures in the dark.

hancock-screening-13.jpg

As the movie ended, our bloggers exited the cinema hall in very orderly manner and well satisfied with the movie.

hancock-screening-1.jpg

However, the night is not over yet, as I had some freebies to give away. Hancock car stickers, Name card holder, Beanie and also a towel!

The bloggers just have to answer a few simple questions and they walked home with the freebies.

hancock-screening-30.jpg

Well, everyone seems really interested in the freebies, especially the beanie. And I’m not quite sure why…

Hancock screening was definitely fun for Nuffnang to put together and we hope that our bloggers had fun too.

hancock-screening-9.jpg

Stay tune to our blog for more Nuffnang community events in the future.

Happy-O-Meter

Hello there Nuffnangers!!

Nuffnang has always been pushing the borders of the online advertising industry. One of the trends have been widget ads where rather than using a simple banner, users are able to interact with the ad or use the ad to perform certain functions.

Today we are launching the very first of these ads called the Happy-O-Meter.

The Happy-O-Meter is a widget has the ability to display how “Happy” or “(un)Happy” you are and also a space for you to update why you are feeling that way.

meter.jpg

On top of that, it also calculates your average mood, whether you are on average a happy or unhappy person.

happy-faces.jpg

We will be rolling out the ad starting today so many blogs out there will have a week to play with it. What you can do to play with the functions of the ad is login to http://www.nuffnang.com.my/blogger/happy-o-meter and customise your profile from there.

During the early planning stages, one of the our Nuffnangers suggested that we allow Nuffnangers to use the Happy-O-Meter even long after the campaign has ended. So when your campaign on your blog has ended, if you still want to have the Happy-O-Meter, you can login and cut and paste the code so you can permanently use it on your blog for free.

Alternatively if you haven’t been assigned the Happy-O-Meter campaign on your blog anyway and still want to use it, feel free to login, then cut and paste the code into your blog.

Have fun everyone, and be happy.

Nuffnang Wild ‘Live’ Blogging @ Modesto’s

When the sun is down.. the animals go wild no matter where they are. In the forest, mountains, swamps and even.. in Kuala Lumpur city.

This is apparent when you see….

joe-gorilla.jpg

A Gorilla walking on the street!!!

Nuffnang Wild ‘Live’ Blogging took place at Modesto’s Desa Sri Hartamas last Saturday where hundreds of bloggers dressed full in animal themed clothes and costume attended. It was the first ‘Live’ Blogging event in Southeast Asia where bloggers get to party and blog at the same time courtesy of Maxis Broadband.

As soon as the registration table is ready, we spotted an eager horse registering himself with a Batgirl.

kideh010.jpg

As more and more bloggers came in, they miss no opportunity to take pictures and pose with their fantastic costumes. Among them were our beautiful Ringo who came as a lioness who looks more pretty than ferocious in nature.

kideh028.jpg

Of course, when there’s such a pretty lioness around, apparently the lion would be happily giggling when he takes photos, right?

kideh038.jpg

Kenny the Pooh showed up. Instead of carrying a jar of honey, he’s carrying his camera.

kenny.jpg

Apparently Ol’ Mac Donald fell asleep and his cows slipped passed the fence to join the party!

oie_cows.jpg

Wait… his chicken too?

kideh060.jpg

And apparently, there wasn’t enough security check during the event when a terrorist came in. Run for it!!

kideh053.jpg

Bugs!!! Well, there’s nothing freaky about bugs if you ask me. You’d agree after seeing these two lovely ladybugs.

kideh086.jpg

Peter Parker or better known as Spiderman didn’t miss the chance to party and to take pictures for the Daily Bugle during the event as well.

kideh088.jpg

Does this count as a lion? Yes it does! Lion dance is a lion.

kideh146.jpg

The animals that were in the party were crazy. You will never find them behaving that way anywhere else! Tell me where would you find a squid, leopard, panda, gorilla, monkey and a ladybug taking a picture together?

kideh050.jpg

A hunter came in the party but instead of shooting any animals, she was shot by the camera while she posed with other animals.

kideh067.jpg

In no time, the jungle was getting full and people, I mean animals were all taking turns to snap photos with each other.

kideh080.jpg

Some of the animals wasted no time and started blogging right on spot for a chance to win the Sony PSP.

oie_live_blogging.jpg

Of course this would not be possible without Maxis Broadband USB modem in their wild skins as displayed by our Nuffies.

kideh041.jpg

Once all the animals have entered the jungle in Modesto’s, Tim ROARED!!!!! I mean gave his opening speech to thank everyone who came and hope that all the animals would have wild and fun time that night.

kideh100.jpg

Liang the emcee asked the penguins to break the ice. Wait, there weren’t any penguins around actually. The ice breaking games kicked off with Liang the emcee asking for specific types of animals to give him hugs and win prizes.

He was eager to hug the pretty zebra who came forward for her prize.

kideh103.jpg

Then, he accidentally called out gorillas and the hairy ones rushed to him for hugs!

kideh108.jpg

He was definitely happy when he called out the rabbits. Almost all of them were girls.

kideh115.jpg

Then it was hunting time, where bloggers were asked to look for animal figurines scattered all over the place.

kideh137.jpg

The winning ladybug received a Large Panda Plushie with a Leopard Print Pouch and also a bite on the microphone offered by Liang.

kideh141.jpg

After that, the feast of a thousand beast begun. Animals behaved at their best while lining up for the delicious meal prepared for them.

kideh151.jpg

Now, tell me who won’t be happy eating pastas with caesar salad, mash potatoes and boneless chicken thighs with gravy?

food.jpg

Kenny was requested to participate in another wild game where he had to picked up random papers which would dictate what animal he would be, what was he going to do and why is he doing that.

kideh171.jpg

He got, “I’m a cat who is crying because I gained weight”.

kideh172.jpg

More games followed as the night continues as lots of attractive prizes were given out. Finally it was the time to choose the King and the Queen of the Jungle. The finalists have been shortlisted and they were..

kideh261.jpg

Su Ann the ladybug, Suet Li the ostrich, Jolyn the Lioness for the Queen of the Jungle Title.

Shad the Terrorist Elephant, Tocklet the Cow, Frankie the Only Male Rabbit.

They were required to fish for votes from the audience by posing and dancing.

If you think a cow can only moo, you are dead wrong. It can fling its udders!

oie_cow.jpg

Now, that’s a fierce lioness. Ngaum!

oie_lioness.jpg

As the votes from the public were being tallied, a slideshow of blog posts generated prior to the event was showed on the projector showcasing some of the best creative animal images, worst recognizable image and also animal at the oddest place.

kideh315.jpg

Prize Giving was next and Ren won the best creative animal blog post with his animation.

kideh326.jpg

Hsu Jen won the Worst Recognizable Animal Blog Post with her Liger.

liger
kideh328.jpg

And Shad the Elephant Terrorist won the Animal at Oddest Place award for featuring his exotic pets, porcupine and tapir in his house.

kideh330.jpg

The King of the Jungle is crowned and it was none other than Tock, the Cow!!! The lucky cow will be collecting his new Dell XPS M1330 laptop from Maxis office in KLCC.

kideh333.jpg

All the way from Penang, Jolyn Goh grabbed the Queen of the Jungle title along with the Dell XPS M1330 laptop with her ferocious outlook and outfit. ROAR!

kideh337.jpg

When the King and the Queen of the Jungle were asked to take a photo together, the Queen of the Jungle seems to be very attracted towards the King. And by that I mean deliciously attracted to him. No wonder the Cow King seemed to be very afraid.

kideh341.jpg

Soon Seng won the best ‘live’ blog post and walked home with a new Sony PSP for his blogging effort. Now who says blogging doesn’t pay?

kideh343.jpg

As the party came to an end, Tim thanked everyone once again for showing support for the party.

kideh350.jpg

However, for some, the party was not over yet as evidently, Kenny the Pooh started dancing around.

kideh354.jpg

Ringo was dragged into dancing as well by Kenny the Pooh.

kideh356.jpg

The Nuffnang team took a family photo at the end of the event and we would like to thank everyone for showing support towards the event. Without all of your participation, it will not be possible to hold such a grand event. Thank you.

oie_family_photo.jpg

A million thanks to KID CHAN STUDIO and Shaolintiger for providing their services to the event. If you wish to view and use the pictures taken during Nuffnang Wild ‘Live’ Blogging, you can click here and here.
