In case you didn’t catch our earlier blog post that Mister Potato is giving out attractive cash prizes to Nuffnangers, here’s a reminder!

The Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards sure was a blast, wasn’t it?

We brought in 400 bloggers and guests from all over Australia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore for the massive Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2009! All of them were donning suits and dresses to honor the first ever red carpet event from Nuffnang!

Finalists, top bloggers and contest winners were all equally dashing in style and elegance that evening.

Held in the Grand Ballroom of Pan Pacific Singapore, bloggers and guests were seated and served a lavish 4-course dinner, all made possible by Pringles and Uniquely Singapore.

The bloggers were entertained with a Magic Show by the JC Sum and Magic Babe Ning, who are highly recognized illusionists in the world.

Electrico, a popular Indie band in Singapore also performed for the bloggers with their top hits.

12 Awards were given out that evening and 14 Malaysian bloggers were shortlisted as finalists in 9 categories. The first one that got us hopeful for a Malaysia win was the Best Food Blog as Singaporean doctor won it instead. Congratulations to Dr Leslie Tay for winning the Best Food Blog Award!

Fast forward down the evening, 8 Awards down but no winners from Malaysia yet. However, we were hopeful as the next one has Kennysia, Budiey and BeautifulNara in it. It was for the Best Entertainment Blog. True enough, a Malaysian won the award and it was Kennysia!! Congratulations, Kenny!

Next up was, Best Original Blog Design Award and we were crossing our finger our beloved Miao from Akiraceo.com would clench the award with his ever kawaii comics but Xiaxue’s fans ensured that didn’t happen as she won the second Award for the night after winning the Most Influential Blog Award. Right after Xiaxue went on stage, Kenny rushed on stage;

and did a Kanye West on Xiaxue by saying “Imma gonna let you finish, but I just want to say Steven Lim has the best blog design of all time!”. Of course, the act drew lots of laughter from spectating bloggers.

Next up was the Best Hidden Gem Blog where our humble Malaysian blogger, YC or Dedoodle was pitted against the popular TaxiDiary and other equally interesting blogs from the region. DedoodleBlog emerged victorious for this Category proving that doodles are the way to go!

Congratulations to all winners of the 12 categories which you can find in the official microsite here. Xiaxue no doubt grabbed all the spotlights in the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2009 where she won a total of 3 Awards for Most Influential Blog, Best Original Blog Design and Region’s Best Blog!
