Selamat Hari Merdeka!

Dear Nuffnangers,

Today is a very special day.

Not just any public holiday.

Not just any special day that gives us a long weekend.

Its our very own NATIONAL DAY… and not just any national day, our dear country’s 50th Birthday.

Selamat Hari Merdeka everyone!!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Nuffnang Abolishes Minimum Traffic Requirement

In the past weeks we have been collecting feedback from our fellow Nuffnangers.

What we have learned is that CPC campaigns earn more for blogs with lower traffic, where cost per unique visitor ads earn more for blogs with higher traffic.

Upon learning this, we have tweaked the campaigns a little to have the CPC network-wide campaigns to run only for bloggers with below 20 unique visitors a day and Cost Per Unique Visitor campaigns for those that fall above. In other words, any blogger can join the community regardless of traffic.

Please feel free to e-mail us some feedback on how this new approach is working for you. At Nuffnang, we are constantly improving and looking for a formula that works for both bloggers and advertisers.

The Nuffnang Community Goes Green!

A community like Nuffnang should never merely be known just for organizing events to bring bloggers together. A respectable community is not just one that brings good things upon itself, but also unto others; be it using its influence to help others outside the community, a charity foundation or an environmental organization.

Today, we fulfill that dream.

The Sumatran rhino is one of five known species of the rhinoceros family and is considered a Malaysian heritage, being the only rhino species found in Malaysia. It is also “the most seriously endangered species of large mammals in the world” with only an estimated 300 of them left in the world.

In January 2006, Honda initiated the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project and pledged RM5,000,000 over a period of 5 years to save the Sumatran Rhino. The project marked the very first corporate sponsorship dedicated to the Sumatran Rhino.

Today the thousands of us Nuffnangers can too lend a helping hand and it does not require the equivalent millions that Honda has pledged. It too does not require the courage or commitment that these men have put in to save the Sumatran Rhino.

Rhino 2

All we need to do is what us bloggers do best:
Using our blogs as a medium to broadcast the existence of such initiatives, that even children in school have caught hold of.

Rhino 3

If you’d like to be part of the Nuffnang Community to save our Sumatran Rhino, embed the Save the Rhinos logo on your blog, write about the Honda – WWF Rhino Rescue Project or support the initiative in whatever way you deem fit.

Today is the day we prove that blogging community is indeed… a powerful one.

Nuffnang 2.0

At our first Nuffnang Community Event in Singapore two days ago, we revealed our new Nuffnang logo and Nuffnang 2.0.

Ming attached the following message to all our program pamphlets at the event, explaining the origins of our old logo and the shift to our new.

The humble stickman logo that many people today associate with Nuffnang was born on a whiteboard.

The stickman with his figure arched backwards, is holding up both his hands to the sky and shouting out, as if proclaiming something.

This has dual significance. On the other hand, it represents the blogger who is expressing himself with zest and passion. The other side of the coin sees his as the advertiser, proclaiming his brand message and competitive edge.

During the business planning phrase, my partner, Timothy and I did countless drawings on the white boards of our office. With the basic concept of what we wanted to look like in our minds, we represented our logos as a simple stickman.

Over time, we grew attached to it adn even though we had professional logo designers to come in and give us proposals, none really made the cut. Having grown attached to it, we thought to ourselves “This is the one!”

The main facet that attracted us to its design was its simplicity. Starting out wtih modest aims, we never expected Nuffnang to grow at the pace it has done or that we would be so quickly thrown into the spotlight!

Today, we mark the launch of a new logo. It represents the joint efforts of fellow Nuffnangers mainly a blogger named , partners and team members and retain all the key elements of our original logo I discussed above. One additional facet, is the fact that the stickman is shouting “out of the box”. This concept has the same dual applications to blogger and advertiser.

I for one, will miss our old logo, but I am also excited as we embark on this new growth phrase that will see Nuffnang moving confidently forward.

-Ming of Nuffnang

Special mention should go to one of our nuffnangers, i-van. A talented graphic designer, he initiated our decision to make a change. Whilst we did not go with his proposal wholesale, some elements such as the “shouting out of the box” element were adopted from him. Thank you for that.

On top of revealing our New logo at the event, we also introduced a sneak peak of what to expect in Nuffnang 2.0, a whole new Nuffnang that we are currently developing.

While Nuffnang 2.0 looks great, there is far more to it than just looks.

We at Nuffnang believe that it is substance over style, and it is substance that has made us the market leader in blog advertising that we are today.

Hence in Nuffnang 2.0, though we will have style… we will also be revealing many new powerful features for both our bloggers and advertisers, features that will without a doubt throw Nuffnang into the league of best engineered websites in the world.

Check out our sneak peak here.

Oh and in case some of you guys didn’t notice.

You Nuffnangers have done it again.

Thanks to you guys, Nuffnang is once again on Technorati’s Top Ten searches.

Revealing Nuffnang’s New Logo and Nuffnang 2.0

Just about the entire Nuffnang team from the KL and Penang offices are down in Singapore today preparing for the long awaited Nuffnang Singapore’s First Community event involving over 200 bloggers, media agencies and advertisers.

The excitement for tomorrow does not just lie in the event itself.

Tomorrow will mark the very first time we reveal our new Nuffnang logo and also release a sneak peak of Nuffnang 2.0, a new modern version of Nuffnang that has so many new powerful features, it will throw Nuffnang into the league of the world’s top websites.

Nuffnangers… stay tuned!!!

The best is yet to come!

Nuffnang Launches Charity Ads

Months ago, we announced that we were coming up with new charity ads to replace our default ads.

After a long time of working together with finding the right charity, we settled on the SPCA after hearing of the great work they have been doing there for years. Today we celebrate the launch of our very first charity ads featuring the SPCA.

These ads will replace our default Nuffnang ad units and will display only if there are no Cost Per Unique Visitor or CPC ads on a blog and are unpaid, just another way of us bloggers giving back to society.

*One of our charity ads running on www.kimberlycun.com

If you are a member of another charity and would like to join our Nuffnang Charity Ads Program, please feel free to contact us. We bloggers will be more than happy to help.

Nuffnang Gives Away 75 Tickets to Watch Ratatouille!

Some of you might have noticed our first video ad campaign by Disney, playing the movie trailer for Ratatouille: The new Disney movie that’s about to hit our shores on the 16th of August 2007.

Now in conjunction to that, Nuffnang is also giving away up to 75 tickets complementary tickets to our bloggers to watch Ratatouille at their convenience.

Because we understand that it’s lonely to watch a movie alone, we’re giving away 2 tickets to each blogger. If you’d like a ticket, send an e-mail to cynthia.lim [@] nuffnang [.] com.

Tickets will be given on a first-come-first-serve basis so please hurry!

Please note that due to the limited tickets we have to give away this time, we have to give priority to bloggers that are exclusively with Nuffnang and not any other local blog advertising network.
