Nuffnang community Event - Traffic Jam at Youth 08
Dear Nuffnangers,
We at Nuffnang always stress that the idea of our community is not purely about making money from ads.
No, we are among many other things, about bringing bloggers in the community together through our community events and also bringing exposure to the many blogs in our community… allowing each blogger the opportunity and the avenue to build a sizable readership.
We plan to achieve both of these objectives with an upcoming Community Event that Nuffnang is co-planning with Youth Malaysia as part of the Youth ’08 Convention: Traffic Jam!
Here are some details.
TRAFFIC JAM
A Nuffnang community event in collaboration with YouthMalaysia.com, sponsored by iTalk Buddy & Tune Money
Objective of the Event:
To introduce Malaysian youth blogsites to the public youths, to increase traffic and readership which results in potentially higher Nuffnang earnings- in line with the direction of blogs as a new age media – an avenue to source for information, updates, etc.
Activity Brief
To participate in Traffic Jam, bloggers will have to sign up by submitting their details at the link below.
The Top 100 Most Interesting Blogs will be selected to be featured in Traffic Jam where each blogger will be designated a computer at the high traffic Youth ’08 Event to promote their blogs to the masses attending the event.
In addition, these bloggers will each receive a RM30 iTalk Card to try iTalk Buddy.
The bloggers will have to write one or more posts regarding:
1. YOUTH’08: Traffic Jam Blogger Party
2. The usage of the RM30 iTalk Card through iTalk Buddy (example: Calling friends from overseas, buying Moji, etc.)
All 100 bloggers will be featured in the YOUTH’08: Traffic Jam Zone during the entire event period from the 18th till 20th January 2008.
Each blog will be represented by one PC whereby bloggers will be given the privilege to dress their individual PCs up. (to attract more votes)
The Most Popular Blogsite voted by the public will receive an award.
In addition, the Most Promising Blogsite selected by Nuffnang will also receive an award.
Additional prizes includes iTalk Buddy Creative Writeup Contest amongst the 100 bloggers and Tune Money Spend and Fly amongst the public bloggers.
By the way,we’ve also got tons of stuff to give away from our sponsors iTalk Buddy and Tune Money!
Sign up for Traffic Jam here.
Note that with the limited number of places, priority will be given to EXCLUSIVE Nuffnangers who are not a part of any other Asian Blog Ad Network.
YOUTH’08: Traffic Jam Blogger Party Programme
If you can’t get a place at Traffic Jam, then fret not for you can still make it for our Traffic Jam Blogger Party on the same day to meet top Malaysian bloggers such as Kenny Sia himself.

YOUTH’08 Main Stage, Hall 4, PWTC
1. Icebreakers

How do we know that if our blog hv been selected?
January 4th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
Wait a minute!!!!
When you say
“Each blog will be represented by one PC whereby bloggers will be given the privilege to dress their individual PCs up. (to attract more votes)”
Do you mean physical PC or just an interface on the screen?
I don’t understand this.

Awesome idea! Highly support this idea but I also feel pity for those who stay far from KL area. Those ‘Top 100 Most Interesting Blogs’ spots mean bloggers does not have to bring along their own personal computer am I right?
Many thanks for this cool idea..
Cheers!

haiz.. why nuffnang’s events always held in west malaysia and not east malaysia, such as Kuching this town. Cas i believe many bloggers from Kuching would certainly want to participate if it’s in Kuching itself..:)
January 5th, 2008 at 12:35 am
I don’t think I could attend the event, having transportation problem.
January 5th, 2008 at 12:59 am

Timothy Tiah:
How does Nuffnang choose the 100 sites to be showcased on the Traffic Jam Event?
What criteria will be evaluated in order for a site to be eligible for the top 100 finalist show down?
Cheers!

Deimos: It’s actually rather subjective and up to discussions with Youth Malaysia after we get all the applications but a rule of thumb is, sites that have genuine content… and sites in which the blogger has content unique enough to attract the attention of the thousands of people that are going to be there on that day.
Johnny: Yes you can still attend Traffic Jam without going for the after party and vice versa.
Johnson: I’m sorry Johnson… been meaning to do something big in East Malaysia as well but all the resources we have are in KL so it’s a little harder to plan something of this scale in Kuching. That being said we’ll try to plan something there, albeit of a smaller scale but at least able to engage you guys ok? It’s not that you’re not important.. it’s that the scale of events we plan require us to have a lot of resources, all that we have here :(
January 5th, 2008 at 11:29 am

January 5th, 2008 at 4:26 pm

Will be away again. Dang..

hi Timothy,
I’m participating in the Youth Convention. According to the agenda, the convention ends at 5:40pm and I believe you’re the last speaker.
http://www.youthmalaysia.com/nyec/theconvention.html
I’ve also enrolled to join Traffic Jam but the party starts at 5pm.Would appreciate your consideration to readjust the start time for the Traffic Jam party. Would hate to miss your speech or walk out halfway of your talk and run my way to Hall 4 in PWTC. ;) I think I can do without the closing speech from YB Dato’ Liow Tiong Lai but I think its not advisable. :P
Btw, when/how do we know if are nominated as the 100 bloggers and also a placing in the Traffic Jam party ?
Will anyone else from Nuffnang be in the Traffic Jam party ? I’m looking forward to meet the Nuffnang team, nuffnangers and your goodself. =) yay !
January 14th, 2008 at 11:39 pm
thank you Michelle for the further information.
