Dear Nuffnangers,

It’s 9.15AM in the morning here and half the Nuffnang Team are still in bed after a long night of putting one of our servers back up again. For those of you who missed it, yesterday at around 12.30PM, the hard disk for one of our servers crashed eventually bringing down the Nuffnang Malaysia website from functioning.

Our team scrambled to find a new Hard Drive, install a new OS and restore all our backups. Today the site is running as normal once again but we’re still running some tests to make sure of that. If you spot anything unusual on our site please feel free to drop us an e-mail via our Help Desk.

I do however owe thanks to many Nuffnangers out there.

The truth is, Nuffnang has its own set of emergency procedures ready in the case in which unforeseen circumstances like this may occur.

They comprise of two teams:

1) A technical response team to get the problem fixed
2) A communication response team to get the word out to our bloggers and keep the a channel of communication open.

The latter team was prepared to face a number of complaints from bloggers only to later on find out that the only e-mails we received were from understanding bloggers, many offering their help and/or suggestions in which we could use alleviate the situations. It was heartening for us that at a time of crisis, our team did not stand alone. Many of our Nuffnangers stood beside us with understanding hearts.

On behalf of everyone at Nuffnang, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for being so understanding and supportive of us.

We will strive to always do better.
