Nuffnang Launches Nuffnang Smart Poll
Dear Nuffnangers,
When our developers at Nuffnang are not spending time improving our site’s backend, adding new internal features or fixing any small problems we encounter every now and then, they’re adding small improvements and features to Innit or developing tools for our bloggers.
One of the new tools they’ve come up with is a poll that we can all add on to our blog to learn more about our readers. All Nuffnangers have access to the poll of their own blogs but only Nuffnang Glitterati will be allowed to customize their own questions.
The new Nuffnang poll is a new state of the art tool with many new cutting-edge features.
For example, the intelligent poll learns about you every time you do a poll on an individual blog. For example, if you do a poll on Blog A and answer that you are between 19-23 years old, the same question will not appear when you visit Blog B with the questions in the poll.
Instead, your answer from Blog A will be carried and stored into Blog B’s profile to give you more information about the people who read your blog. Reducing the frequency of the same poll being answered repeatedly also reduces the sampling error of your results, giving you more accurate results.
If you wish to activate or deactivate the poll, please login to your Nuffnang account and click on the “Blog Manager” tab. If you don’t find the tab then click on “More” to see more tabs.
Alternatively if you run into any problems, you can contact us via our Helpdesk.
Have fun with the new tool everyone!
Media Recognition
As the role of bloggers strengthen in today’s information age, we have come very far to be recognized and acknowledged as part of the new age media. Alongside with journalists from the conventional media, we’ve attended Press Screenings for new movies, Contest Launches, Event Launches and many more.
Last month, 10 Glitterati Nuffnangers attended their first Press Screening for the first time watching Death Note 3.

Then we had our hands full sending invitations to our exclusive bloggers who are available to attend Digi’s Reload Contest Media Launch last Friday with a cool invitation. The invitation was in the form of a millipede.

Digi is practically giving everyone a chance to win RM100,000 each week without having to do anything difficult and daring. Simply reload your phone with a minimum amount and you’ll stand a chance to winOur bloggers were no doubt the most spontaneous when challenged to perform daring feats. Almost all of our bloggers took pictures with a python wrapped on them!

Among other daring feats our bloggers did were kissing an iguana, touching a gecko, locked in a cage filled with snakes, putting their hand in a box full of live crickets, drinking cocktail with bugs as main ingredient and many more.

Two of our bloggers even walked away with an iPod Shuffle each as the keys from their millipede boxes matched the locks of boxes containing the iPod Shuffles!

To add icing on top of the cake, two days after the event 2 of our bloggers came out in an article of Sin Chew Daily.

The next event was GuaMuzik launch on Monday, 14th April. Once again, we sent a legion of bloggers to cover the event.

The events kept rolling in as the day after that, Coca-Cola Euro 2008 Ground Event was held at Sassorosso. It was to promote their contest where you can win a trip for 2 to the final match of Euro 2008 and all you have to do is just drink Coca-cola, Coke Light or Sprite.

All these would not be possible if we bloggers have not stay united to express ourselves. We thank you for your support to Nuffnang.
If you would like to enroll your name in our list to attend future media events, please drop me an email at robb.chew@nuffnang.com with the title “I Would Like to Receive Press Invitations” with your name and blog URL.Due to the maximum limit of bloggers we could send for each event, we’re restricting this privilege to only our Glitterati members. Please bear in mind that most Media Events and Press Screenings are held on weekdays during working hours. We would appreciate it that you only write in if you are available at those hours to maximize the attendance of bloggers.
Cheers
Robb

Nuffnang Reveals Click-Rating System
Dear Nuffnangers,
This week alone, there are 20 different campaigns running concurrently on the Nuffnang network involving thousands of blogs. That being said, some bloggers tend to get repeated ads week after week and some receive ads in a lower frequency in spite of the network ad revenue growth for the past year being 90% month after month.
The truth is many factors affect a blog’s selection in being delivered a Cost-Per-Unique Visitor ad, among many is the ad placement on the blog and whether a blog is Glitterati or not.
However, another very very important factor that advertisers look at is often the historical click-through ratio that a blogger gets for a previously run campaign on his/her blog. The more clicks and the higher the CTR that a blogger gets, the more likely that a future advertiser will choose to run a campaign on the individual blog.

The lower the clicks and the lower the CTR of an individual blog in previous campaigns, the less likely an advertiser will want to place an ad on the individual blog. That being said, prior to today, such information was not being made public and many bloggers were in the dark about how their ads perform. Hence, today we are launching a Click-Rating system that will rate how well or how badly a blog has performed in terms of CTR in the previous ad campaigns.
The click-rating ranges from 1 to 5 levels. 5 being the best, and 1 being the lowest. Each week the Click-rating will be updated based on the campaign that ran in the previous week. If there was no campaign in the previous week then there will be no change in the Click-Rating of a blog.

We hope this new system will provide bloggers with more information on the performance of their ad spaces on their blogs.
