Nuffnang Introduces Metered Unique Visitor System
Dear Nuffnangers,
Some of you may have noticed that we have been recently beta testing a new metered unique visitor system, as opposed to our existing model of selling ads on weekly slots. Under this new system, more than one advertiser can buy an X number of unique visitors from each blog.
All the earnings earned from this new ad system is recorded under “Buffer Earnings” in the Earnings Tab and for this beta stage will be totaled up with the rest of your earnings once every week.
Here is what we hope to achieve with this new system:
1) A better distribution of ads to more bloggers.
2) Lower fatigue resulting in better click-through ratios
3) More income since we can now run multiple advertisers on a single ad unit.
This system is still under beta testing so if you have any feedback, please feel free to drop us an e-mail via our Helpdesk.
Thanks guys!
Have a great day ahead!

Conclusion: rotating a few ads in one slot for the entire week, instead of just having one ad in that slot for the entire week.
Am I right?

This means that in the future, there are no more CPM campaign? All rely on CPC?
June 11th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Is this why sometimes I see different ads on my ad unit in my blog and when I checked the earnings no 25 cents are listed?
June 11th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
it’s a creative and improved for both sides - advertisers and bloggers! Good jobs :)
June 11th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
yea i wanna ask too.. does this means we dun hav CPM campaigns?? dun hav band 1 band 2 band 3 n so on ard?? all rely on CPC ads?? =/

Hmm.. I was at first wondering what were those buffered earnings. Looks like I get the picture now. No wonder I’ve gone 2 weeks without ads.. O_o
June 11th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
We’re still not clear on how this system works. Does it mean that if the advertiser buys 200 unique visits, the ads will be shown for the 1st 200 unique visitors in the blog, which then may revert back to CPC ads or the next advertiser who also wants to advertise, let’s say, for the next 200 unique visitors to that particular blog?

I really have no idea about it >.>

I’m still not sure what this means… and i don’t see any buffer earning tab. Explain further? :S
June 11th, 2008 at 9:50 pm
I have gone a few weeks without any adds and was really curious why was that a Buffered Earnings. Anyway, I got the first part of the idea but still not clear about how the advertisers are buying the unique readers.
June 11th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
well, this will be pretty good especially for those who have low unique visitors yet!
June 11th, 2008 at 11:09 pm

It’s like 3 in 1, 10 in 1, 5 in 1 advertising package. I like this new system introduction.

June 13th, 2008 at 12:35 am
looks like banner impossible ads. the ads banner will launch soon. hehehe… multiple ads in one…
June 13th, 2008 at 9:50 am
that good.. nuffnang really a great company and good choice
June 13th, 2008 at 5:18 pm
It’s still eCPM it just caters for banner rotation to give higher click-through and less ad fatigue. And potentially higher earnings as you can have more advertisers on your blog in a given period.
It would based more on absolute traffic than banding as the adverts are bought in batches of unique visitors rather than on a given blog for a whole week.
It’s also good for smaller bloggers as the ads can be distributed across more blogs for the same number of unique hits rather than just having the spot on a larger blog for a whole week.
June 13th, 2008 at 6:53 pm
Well, I can see this definetely giving more opportunities to other bloggers to host ads and gain income. As for the increase in income, it still comes down to if your blog is one of the most sought after for a particular category.
But I don’t get the lower fatigue part. Were you referring to clients burning their budgets? And with this new system, clients worry less about it as they can spread their budget to 200 unique visits per blog in the list of blogs in a particular category?
For example; RM 10,000 budget and RM 0.10 per unique visitor so it’s RM 2 per blog. With RM 10,000 my campaign can span up to 5,000 blogs under the category called Lifestyle. Is this correct in some way?
June 14th, 2008 at 12:10 am
Sounds good but I have no idea about the new system indeed..further,I never have paid ads from nuffnang also(wondering),so can’t get what was happening in old system..Anyway,I do clear with the multiple ads part.Changes is good!
June 14th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Sounds cool, i haven’t had an advertistment on my blog for ages since i last joined. wonder if i get to get ads on my blog? i still do not know how to put the headbar ad on my blog….

‘All the earnings earned from this new ad system is recorded under “Buffer Earnings” in the Earnings Tab and for this beta stage will be totaled up with the rest of your earnings once every week.‘

December 12th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
so,do we earn from this buffered earnings from clicks or unique visitors? coz im a lil bit confuse as they use the term “hits”
June 22nd, 2009 at 2:57 pm
1] Can someone tell me why I didn’t see any buffer earnings under my ‘Earning’ tab?
2] Is it only apply to some bloggers or every nuffy will get that?
3] Do I need to change some setting or anything else.
Thank you!
