The 4th of April 2009 sure did leave a footprint in the minds of a lot of Nuffnangers. It was the Nuffnang Music Bash 2009 Powered by Maxis Broadband!!!

With Nuffnangers coming all the way from JB and Penang as celebrities, we made sure there were enough security personnel to handle the raving crowd. Nicholas the Korean popstar and Kim from the Village People were in safe hands during the photo taking session above.

Journalists rushed to interview some of the celebrities we had there including this crew from NTV7.

Not long after registration was opened, the red carpet was flooded with Nuffnangers dressed as their favourite celebrities. It was the first time many of them were meeting one another in person so everyone grabbed the opportunity to camwhore.

Inside, some bloggers were already jamming their way by forming their own Rock Band at one corner and making their own music video at another.

If you have recorded your own music video last Saturday evening, you can browse through all the other videos uploaded by MMusicFest to find yours. Among the famous celebrities that attended the Nuffnang Music Bash 2009:

Yes, Bob Marley was in the house! YA MAN!

Lady Gaga was there too making everyone go gaga.

As usual Liang was an amazing emcee!

Among the highlights of the evening were of course, a band performance by bloggers, for bloggers. Give it up for The Holograms!!

There was also a variety of games played that offered really fun prizes like the Peak Polarized Lens Sunglasses and Armani Exchange Belts. To win an Armani Exchange Belt, contestants were asked to imitate a dance from a particular music video – Beyonce’s Single Ladies.

We had both our guy and girl bloggers shaking their hips as best as they could trying to win the belts. Eventually the crowd also got Liang to join in the dance.

After that, the Nuffnang Team gathered on stage to embarrass ourselves. We went up to sing “Let the Music Heal Your Soul“.

19.jpg

Before we started the song, Timothy warned everyone that everyone in Nuffnang be it programmers, designers, sales and more are all very good at what we do…. but we are terrible at singing. We performed with some of us singing completely off key but fortunately the Nuffnangers there that night were supportive enough to sing with us.

Our Nuffnang girls performed their version of Jai Ho dance, inspired from Slumdog Millionaire right after the song. Some of the other winners that night were: Andrea Tee won The Most Creative Blogger Award as judges from Maxis Broadband were impressed by her video and singing below. She went home with a brand new Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

Sam Vun and Jolyn Goh both won The Next Big Hit Blogger Award due to the charming blog posts. An iPod Touch was their loot of the night.

As promised, we gave out mystery prizes during the party and one of them was for The Most Uninspiring Blogger Award. The award went to Angela Ong with her eccentric video (WE LOVE YOU ANGELA!!!). The mystery prize was a pair of drumsticks (the one you hit drums with, not the one you take a bite) and 2 GSC Gold Class Tickets.

22.jpg

Julian Hopkins won The Best Celebrity Impersonator as Bob Marley. He walked home with a brand new Sony PS3 with an original game, SingStar.

23.jpg

Huai Bin came as Eminem. Wearing a coat and armed with 2 plastic handguns, he failed to impress the audience nor the judges. He was deemed The Worst Celebrity Impersonator and for that, he won a Broomstick along with 2 GSC Gold Class Tickets.

Jolene was crowned the Best Dressed Female of the night with her outfit as Lady Gaga. She went home with RM500 in TopShop vouchers.

Yat came as John Lennon and impressed the audience enough to crown him the Best Dressed Male winning for himself also a RM500 Topman voucher.

Here’s a compilation of the very top videos submitted by our bloggers before the party. Of course, it’s just a snippet of all the videos, so do check their blogs out if you wish to view their videos.

Our official photographer, Shaolintiger has uploaded the pictures of the party here.Feel free to use the pictures but please do credit and link back to Shaolintiger.com if you do. All in all, the Nuffnang Music Bash was a party like no other. We owe thanks to Maxis Broadband of whom without this party wouldn’t have been possible. Equally as important is thanks to everyone else who attended the Nuffnang Music Bash. Without you, the party wouldn’t have rocked as much as it did.I can safely say that I speak for everyone when I say that all of us in the Nuffnang Team went home happy that night…. after another great night with fellow Nuffnangers.See you at our next party!
