I do agree that sometimes a hands-on approach is useful to reinforce certain concepts that are taught in the classroom. I still remember the various projects we used to do in high-school in Singapore. I was fortunate that we HAD to submit at least 1 project each year. We were free to do whatever we wanted though. And it really spurred a lot of creative ideas. A few students even got a lot of money by selling off patents of some of their ideas. I wish we had more of these here in Malaysia. Helps our younger generation think more on their feet rather than getting spoonfed.
