Eagle Eye Premiere Screening by Nuffnang

As most of you are excited about the Premiere of Mamma Mia! The Movie, we are proud to bring you another Premiere Screening and this time it’s Eagle Eye by Shia LaBeouf (Transformers & Indiana Jones) and Michelle Monaghan (Mission Impossible 3 & Made of Honour).

Here’s a short sypnosis of this upcoming thriller.

Jerry Shaw (LaBeouf) and Rachel Holloman (Monaghan) are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations – using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move. All you have to do to secure a pair of invitations to watch the Premiere of Eagle Eye is to write in an e-mail to eagle_eye@nuffnang.com with details such as your full name and your registered email address with Nuffnang. Priorities will be given to 40 Glitterati bloggers who wrote in for Mamma Mia! The Movie’s Premiere but did not make it into the final list. Do note that the tickets are not given as a default to those who did not make the final list for Mamma Mia’s Premiere as you will need to write in to the email provided above. Confirmation emails will be sent out on the 19th of September to those who managed to secure the tickets.

This literally means, if you have not blog about Mamma Mia! The Movie, you should do so as you’re almost guaranteed a pair of tickets to watch a movie Premiere be it Mamma Mia! The Movie or Eagle Eye!

Nuffnang Sharing Session 24/8/08

After going through over 60 emails from hopeful bloggers who wished to attend this Sharing Session, the first 20 bloggers who wrote in were selected to attend the first Nuffnang Sharing Session last Sunday at Italiannies, One Utama.

Registration took place at 5.40pm where bloggers start to flock Italiannies, eager to meet new friends and to savor the legendary Cabonara.

Behold.

Well of course, we didn’t jump straight away into the Cabonara. We had appetizers that came in the form of Sicilian Chicken Salad and an extremely cheesy Spinach Artichoke Formaggio.

There were of course many more pictures of the food served such as the Classic Pizza, Chicken Italiannies, Cappucinno Pie and Tiramisu as well.

So, what do you expect to happen when you have a table of 25 bloggers dining together at Italiannies?

It’s definitely going to get flashy with all the cameras snapping pictures!

As the heroines of the day, Cindy and Ringo were present to share their experience of the Malaysian Dreamgirl experience.

They shared various experiences including the behind the scene real happenings, their feelings and many more secrets not told in front of the rolling cameras. Everyone was all ears listening to their experiences with various bloggers asking questions about the show.

Coincidentally, it was also one of the blogger’s birthday on the 24th of August. Widely know as Copykate, Kate celebrated her 18th birthday! The Italiannies management were so kind to even gave her a surprise dessert to celebrate her birthday! Everyone sang her a birthday song took picture of her while she attempted to blow off the candle using a straw from a distance.

The Raisin Bread Pudding was shared among all the bloggers as Copykate spread the love and joy around. We had no idea that bread can taste so good in Italiannies.

And then, the photo taking session began…

Today marks a very exciting day for many of us at Nuffnang for it marks the launching of Nuffnang Philippines (Nuffnang Philippines Inc). In the midst of our daily work of growing Nuffnang in Malaysia and Singapore we have all secretly been working behind the scenes to launch Nuffnang in the Philippines to add to our regional expansion.

Regional expansion for us does not merely mean we’re accepting bloggers from the Philippines now. No what it means is we have set up an office in Manila with a Nuffnang team there fully dedicated to serving the Community there. First off, the Nuffnang Cyber Games took place today at Samsung Booth in conjunction with the World Cyber Games Malaysia 2008 with Samsung as the worldwide sponsor! 7 teams of bloggers turned up with their strategies and tactics to attempt to win RM1,500 as a team and a Samsung MP3 player each. The Nuffnang team took part in it as well led by the co-founder of Nuffnang himself, Timothy Tiah. As much as the Nuffnang staffs would like to have a little bonus in the salary, we were sent packing by a team of very professional gamers led by Ben Chan.

Next, for The Most Creative Entry blog post, Samsung has chosen 2 winners for this and they are, Soo Chooi Leang with his really cheeky blog post and Rommel Ling with his facts of Counterstrike. Chooi Leang walked home with a new Digital Still Camera NV24HD and Rommel with a MP3 Player YP-U3 from Samsung.

As for the winner of the 32″ LCD TV for The Funniest Entry, Samsung has chosen our very own co-founder, Timothy Tiah’s blog post as the winner for this category!!! However, Tim has refused to accept his prize and has decided to give it out to another blogger instead!

Ismail the Last Days

Taman Tun Dr Ismail also known as T.T.D.I, is not unfamiliar to people who live in the Klang Valley as it is famous for places of interest such as Rasta and many more. However, how much do we know the name of Tun Dr Ismail? Now that’s food for thought.

Malaysians can know more about This ‘third man’ of Malaysian politics as Tun Dr. Ismail was a true nation builder, committed to bridging the gulf of ethnicity and religion in this country.

His story is brought to life by KLPAC’s latest performance, Ismail The Last Days.

Four of our Glitterati Nuffnangers, Charmayne, Linora, Min Li and Nick Dorian are proud to be a part of this historical musical performance and we love supporting our Nuffnangers!

Essentially a dramatization of real events in the history of Malaysia, the musical does not in any way seek to present its material as historical fact. It seeks to, at the very least, remain true to the spirit of Tun Dr Ismail and his time.

Sabahan Bloggers Gathering 2008

Nuffnang is proud to be a part of Sabahan Bloggers Gathering which took place last Saturday in Kota Kinabalu.

Over 150 bloggers from Sabah and some from Sarawak as well met up at Imperial Hotel, Warisan Square for a lavish evening dinner together. The gathering was aimed to foster and bridge Sabahans as a community and further encourage real life involvement of fun as most of bloggers don’t know the actual person behind the blogs they read. So the gathering was deemed as a perfect opportunity for them to meet each other in real life under one roof.

Among many who attended the event was Louis Pang, an international award-winning photographer, a local Pop/R&B singer and composer Terry Peter and Richado Tawith, as well as Sabah VFM’s top and bubbly DJ Selina Light. In addition, Robb Chew, Nuffnang’s Blogger Relations Executive was there as well on behalf of Nuffnang and Exabytes for the gathering.

The night was filled with performances from various musicians from the Sabah Institute of Art, Locust Day-Dream, and specially invited local artists namely Pop/R&B singer composer Terry Peter and Richado Tawith. The Sabahan bloggers were truly rewarded with heavenly musics and rhythm for the night. Some even took the rhythm to the dance floor.

There were many lucky bloggers who won various prizes from various sponsors through lucky draws, mainly Exabytes which is one of the main sponsor for the event. Robb was given the honor to make the lucky draw and present the prizes to the lucky bloggers on behalf of Exabytes and Nuffnang.

Overall it was a fun filled night where many bloggers were happy to finally met each other after reading each other blogs before this. To add to that, the food and performances were splendid and everything went smooth according to plan. All of them were happy for attending the Sabahan Bloggers Gathering. If you think you’ve missed the fun, yes you did. No worries, as there’s always next year for Sabahan Bloggers Gathering!
