Kevin Chan

Nuffnang Featured Blogger for the month of July

Hey there Nuffnangers! My name is Kevin Chan from Hamlet’s Hero and I am just so thankful to be chosen as Nuffnang’s featured blogger of the month!

Yup, that’s me.

I’m a pretty new blogger and really don’t know that many bloggers out there but perhaps you could have seen me before in one of my crazy blog stunts?

The Spartan Invasion of 1 Utama!

At the Nuffnang Standout Party!

Or maybe in this more recent one?

Or maybe even this one?

Yeah, some people tell me that I’m a pretty spontaneous, crazy guy, but I’m really a pretty normal guy deep inside. Oh damn, I just lied. Oops!

That’s me cable-skiing in Batam!

Anyway, I’m 20 years old this year and am currently studying Business in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore but frequently come back to my home in PJ whenever I can. I’m sorry Singapore, it’s just that the food back home is just better!

I’m majoring in both Marketing and Business Law and spend a great majority of my time thinking of the next awesome thing to do or business venture to get into. So if you people have any great business ideas and need someone to help make those ideas something more concrete, don’t hesitate to contact me!

My other hobbies include debating, public speaking, reading and attempting to write the next Murakami novel (you can’t stop a guy from trying!).

I started my blog not too long ago, back in late 2007 when I was just finished with with my A-Level exams and had just a little bit too much free time on my hands. Frankly speaking, I was really bored then. I was away from my friends back in Singapore and my friends back home were still busy with their school commitments. My life just seemed really dull then. I couldn’t take it. I was desperate to turn the awesomeness dial up to high. Then it hit me.

AHA!

I loved reading Kennysia and have been reading Pinkpau’s blogs for years and so I thought that I should just give it a shot. Who knows? Maybe someday I’ll be able to write a blog of their standard with their kind of following. And that sounded pretty awesome to me.

And so, armed with the fervor of a crazed zealot, I started a blog, and in that first post, wrote all about my master project.

A quote from that very first post:

Now since my A-levels are all over and done with, its high time to start with my master project – making my life more exciting. I believe that it’s really up to us to seize the day and make the most out of our life. Who reminisces about the hours and hours you spend leveling in World of Warcraft on their deathbeds, seriously?

I once read that a life should not be measured by the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.

And that is my mission in life, to make my life as awesome and as exciting as I can. And then a little something came along to make my life as a blogger so much more exciting!

I got to know about Nuffnang through both Kenny and Pinkpau. And a whole new world of awesomeness just opened up to me!

The two people that inspired me to start blogging – Kenny and Pinkpau!

I started going to these awesome parties that Nuffnang organized! I still remember my very first Nuffnang party at the Borneo Baruk Club early last year where I had the incredible opportuinity to meet people I never thought would see in person like our dear Kenny, Dawn Yang and Xiaxue! It was then when I realised that I was totally hooked on the blogging experience that Nuffnang provided!

At the pyjama party!

My first time meeting Kennysia!

Posing with Timothy for the first time too!

Celebrity blogger Dawn Yang!

I also went for Nuffnang’s Wild Live party dressed up as a Man-Cat!

Awesome, awesome times!

I kept going for Nuffnang parties and through joining their competitions, got to know fellow Nuffnangers and the Nuffies better! And I have never looked back since!

Wonderful yumcha session after the recent Standout party!

So the big question that I get a lot concerning blogging is this – why Hamlet’s Hero?

It’s not that I’m that big a lit geek, but because I have this dear friend whom I call Hamlet. And during my college days we used to pass the time dreaming of starting an awesome rock band which we would name Hamlet’s Heroes. But due to the inability of the both of us to sing or play musical instruments, the band never took off.

Kevin on the right and dear Hamlet on the right

So it became the name of my blog, kinda.

All in all, my blogging experience with Nuffnang has been a wonderful one and I really look forward to meeting and getting to know more of you Nuffnangers out there!

So if you ever want to get to know this crazy person blogger here better, just drop me a comment at my blog at http://hamletshero.blogspot.com and let me know!

Roar!

Thanks again to the great team of Nuffies at Nuffnang for nominating me! You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work but please don’t overwork the Nuffies, Tim!

Hope to get to know more of you Nuffnangers who post on Innit and see you guys at the next party!

Signing out,

Kevin Chan.
