Hello peeps! First and foremost allow me to say a big Thank You to Nuffnang for making me one of their featured bloggers. They definitely have carved out a great list of bloggers to feature for the past four years and allowing me to be apart of the list is absolutely great =)

Blogging comes naturally to me, it’s the only way I can express how I feel, what I’ve been up to and what’s yet to come. Things are still a whirlwind for me, I’m still a small town lad ( yes I am! Teluk Intan rocks) who learnt all about music from my uber talented mother, who taught me the piano at age three! And ummm no, not that toy one that comes in different colours, I mean the actual grand piano!

At age seven my mother posed a question to me, Dennis what instrument would you like to pick up? I answered the violin, and well the rest as they say is history! I never looked back since then and was dead set on being a performer. That’s why at the age of 19 I took the opportunity to perform at many local gigs, and then progress to playing with industry greats like, Lewis Pragasam, Atilia Haron, Syafinaz Selamat, Yuri Wong and etc.

Many people have highlighting moments in their life, I feel blessed to have a major highlighting moment in my life, which occurred late last year, I felt complete when I launched my maiden album “DiversiFy” with Sony Music Entertainment as my distributors at Shook StarHill. It was an electrifying moment to play alongside Syafinaz on our duet “Mahkota” and perform a piece that made me feel super content! Which piece? Well what else but not the jaw dropping performance by Shawn Lee backed up with Yuri Wong and Ken Chung. It feels great to be able to compose and write my own songs!

Being a performer has given me lots of perks in my life, when you read my blog, you can tell it centralizes around my passion and love, music! It’s the true reason I live everyday for and it has given me a chance to idolize the greats such as Michael Jackson and Ryan Leslie to name a few.

Music has been kind to me, connecting me to people I love, allowing me to express myself, giving me the opportunity to perform in Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka, China to name a few. Most importantly, it has made me someone! People know me as Dennis Lau the Electric Violinist/Songwriter , music has put me on the map, and even given me some accolade especially during the VIMA’s when my album DiversiFy won Best Producer, whom I shared with my longtime friend Yuri Wong!

In a nutshell, I blog about music and will continue to do so, because it’s my passion and it gives me nothing but joy when people tell me how much they appreciate my music! Feelings are best expressed through words, and blogging gives us that opportunity. The blogosphere has been kind to me and I respect that!
